I think Omer, CLJ, and others did bring it up on the RPi at their
hackathon a few weeks back. I was counting the initial work as "done,
but not merged in." I see these kinds of changes as being sensible to
merge in (along with power management for AVRs) after a repos move.

I have two R-Pis that are looking for their TVMs, and yes, I agree on
all fronts---bare and bindings to Linux GPIOs would be useful.
