What bothers me is that this seems related to the (likely) bug I
introduced by moving the firmware location. I think that change has
been nothing but trouble, and we need to consider moving it back. Ill
have to think if there are any obvious debugging steps that would help
us identify if that was the case.

("Program loading failed" means the virtual machine cannot find your
bytecode; it doesn't tell us anything else. So, it means the VM is
up-and-running, but the bytecode is... not where it expects it to be.)
