[C.CC USERS] Understanding Transterpreter

I would like to gain a deeper understanding of how transterpreter works. 
I was wondering if there is any design documentation available other 
than the C source code? I have read the document The Transterpreter: A 
Transputer Interpreter 
<http://www.transterpreter.org/publications/pdfs/the-transterpreter-a-transputer-interpreter.pdf>which 
offers a little insight - but not a lot.  That document mentions that 
there is also a Scheme version - is the source for that available?
