It would involve scripting "avrdude" to do some probing of the
Atmega328 at particular memory locations for our firmware. I think the
last time we looked we deemed it "rather tricky" or harder.

It would be Amazing(TM), and we definitely agree.

Hm. That's the first time we've heard that reported (the non-release).
That is a bug. (Memo to team: are we using the Trac ticketing system
in a systematic way? I am pretty sure the answer is "no." Perhaps we
should?)

I saw that for the first time in Windows just before the holidays. I
don't know why the enumeration doesn't work. The fix *might* be to put
that in the book. :/ Or, it's a bug... either way, it merits
investigation.

All good points -- given that our source has not moved, should we use
the bug tracking in Trac, or are we doing Something Else with the host
move for the WWW?

(I do think that some of the team is wandering around at the moment; I
(blissfully) stayed home this holiday.)
