I should clarify, CO538 is a module which can form part of the second or third year of Kent's CS course - we don't offer a specific concurrency course at undergraduate level. Apologies for the errant use of terminology.

There's nothing in there that's mac specific, but you will need python with wxPython, mako and yaml modules on whatever platform you need to run on. I did test a few months ago on Windows 7 and had success, and it's run on Linux before with no problem. The py2app related files are just a result of recent explorations in producing binaries, you can execute the program by running 'python constructor.py', which will ignore any platform specific loading.
