Well, JEdit runs under Linux. However, we haven't ported/fixed the
plugin for Linux. (It used to run there, and then Christian
reorganized many things to make things better. Which it did. But we're
not done fixing the betterness.)

'vi' knows about occam syntax, which is useful. To that end, gvim
might work well -- which gives you the graphical aspects of most
editors without having to wrestle with full Vim.

Again, really - us finishing the build would fix a lot of these
things. My personal goal is that we'll have all our ducks in a row for
OSCON, which means my month of June will be focused primarily on
concurrency.cc work.

I think my students used an assortment of editors, mostly using GEdit
or similar.

Fire away with questions. They're very valuable unto themselves.
