Humor aside, I have a student who is working through the book on a
Windows machine, beginning tomorrow. Probably not XP SP3, but still...
perhaps that will help answer this. That you have the problem with
multiple platforms is actually *really* good to know, because it says
that there seems to be something consistent/systematic. That is, we
should see this on other Windows machines (if it is our software), or
we have a really, really weird interaction bug somewhere on your
particular machine.
We'll see what the student discovers tomorrow, and we'll go from
there. If they have zero problems, I may have to try and build an XP
SP3 virtual machine, and see if I can get things to fail in that
environment. (Does anyone else have XP SP3 and are you able to
reproduce these problems?)
