mmmm... We should look at this. In general it would be really useful
to be able to dump the first little bit of the flash before each
upload to check for a magic #, the version number of the firmware and
probably also the bytecode address. This would turn these kinds of
problems into a helpful dialog box.

However, I need to figure out what has gone wrong here. Is this a
problem with the same constant being defined separately in the source
and in the conf file? If so we should really sort that out, otherwise
that bug will *definitely* bite again.
