As a team, we'll have to decide what to do about this, as the 2560
firmware has shipped on a lot of devices. Once we fix the firmware (an
early summer project for me), we'll still have the problem of most
users being unable to burn a new bootloader. (Burning a bootloader
requires an ISP, which most users do not have.) So, we'll need a
workaround in the environment. :P

I know the Arduino team has been working on a series of tests; I'll
see if they can add something to their test of bootloaders (if they
have any) that uploads multiple programs to multiple locations and
tests whether or not it was successful. I may need to submit a patch
on that as well.
