I'm pulling down a 9.10 ISO and will try it under VirtualBox (Mac). It
is a full day, but there should be enough in-between moments to keep
the installation going and test it shortly.

Note that Debian Lucid (10.x) just reported a fix on our Autoconf 2.63
problems... so, the next version of Ubuntu should be "fixed" with
respect to compiling for AVR targets. (This is unrelated, Dennis, but
perhaps of interest in general.) I'll try and test building the tree
there at some point in the near future.
