Adam, if you're too busy, I can put together some notes on merging...
I need to re-learn/figure out how to do this anyway. However, it might
be useful to have a quick-and-dirty set of notes in Trac about this. I
know you've done this more often than I have. Or, even, a pointer to
an appropriate webpage might do... actually...

That seems like a reasonable starting point. I'll do this against my
own branch tomorrow, and write it up (unless someone else beats me to
it).
